Artist Statement

My work is about living in a body. I explore the vulnerability and the power of my own embodied experience with a focus on form, intensity, sensation and the temporal. Lately I have been accessing this topic through 19th century film stills and photographs. I create my own conversation between early photography and film, and other media including painting, drawing, video & sculpture.
Works are created for my own exploration and, equally, to engage in conversations with other works and with the body and mind of the viewer.
